Korean Language Program
The International Education Center consists of excellent instructors and well-equipped lecture rooms. Also, there are various auditory materials to practice listening to recorded stories and analyze pronunciation in multimedia lecture rooms. Students can rest in the associated cafeteria.

Korean Course - General Course

One year course (40 weeks, total 800 hours)

  • Hours of lecture: Per semester 20 weeks / Per week 20 hours/ Per day 4 hours (Total 400 hours)
  • Number of people in one class: From 15 to 25
  • We also offer various related programs including Korean cultural experience and after class Korean speaking- practice opportunities.

Level Explanation of each subject
Beginner Level 1 It's the basic first step for beginners who haven't learnt any Korean at all. It focuses on pronunciation, practical vocabulary, sentence structure and simple conversations. Conversation, grammar, listening, writing classes are set up for beginning levels.
Beginner level 2 This textbook is suitable for beginners at level 2, focusing on grammar, conjunction, conversation in actual life and simple essay writing. There are conversation, grammar, and writing classes.
Intermediate level1 This textbook is suitable for an intermediate level 1, focusing on passive verbs, causative verbs and indirect speech. A learner can reach a new level of communication in an actual life.
Intermediate level2 This textbook is suitable for an intermediate level 2, focusing on Korean traditional culture, customs, and proverbs. Learners can learn to use various kinds of expressions.
Advanced level 1,2 These textbooks are suitable for advanced levels 1 and 2. They will help foreigners who want to study Korean professionally. Learners gain insight into the society of Korea, its culture, and its history. By learning conversations and writing an essay, learners can gain the ability to communicate at a high-level and be able to watch movies and dramas as well as read newspapers and novels.

  5. 5. Athletics for foreign students - annual foreign students' athletic competition

  • Completion of 4 credits is allowed per semester(6 hours) for a total of two
    semesters. Total completion of 8 credits(12 hours)
  • These credits are accepted as belonging to cultural studies

of Korean Culture 1		 There are two courses in this program, which includes lessons on both theory and practice. These courses will help foreign students understand life and culture in Korea without the awkwardness of having to learn everything on their own. Theoretical lessons use a textbook published by the International Education Center. Practical lessons include activities for practicing conversation, role playing social situations, playing educational games, experiencing traditional culture and touring historical sites.

Culture 1		 There are two courses in this program, which includes lessons on both theory and practice. These courses will help foreign students understand the general culture of Korea today. Theoreticaly lessons use a textbook published by the International Education Center. Practical lessons include activities based on TV dramas, news papers, broadcasts, magazines, and other publications, movies, music, advertisements and fashion.

Korean course for graduate students

  • The course for graduate students is similar to that for undergraduate students with the
    exception that graduate students can take a total of three credits per semester. A certificate
    may be awarded upon completion of the course.
