On August 25, Dongseo University welcomed 522 international students from 55 countries who have come for language training; as transfer students entering undergraduate, master’s or doctoral programs; or as exchange students pursuing dual degrees from DSU and its partner universities. They have come from all over the world, including countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, France, China, Russia, Nigeria, Mexico, Lithuania, Venezuela, Oman, Egypt, India, Finland, and many more. Of the 55 countries represented, 22 are in Asia, 9 in the Americas, 12 in Europe, and 12 in Africa.
To help the new students get settled more easily, two separate orientation sessions were held on August 25 at U-IT. The first one was in English in the morning, and the second one was in Chinese in the afternoon.
The GSI Welcoming Ceremony was held on September 6 at Sohyang Art Hall. The YESORI School Club and students from the department of musical theater welcomed the new international students by performingsamulnoriand musical numbers.
The new students pledged, “Thank you for welcoming us as part of the DSU family and for making us proud of becoming DSU students. We promise that we have a great passion for making our time at DSU among the most valuable experiences in our lives.”
