In 2015, the Global Division at Dongseo University was expanded and renamed the Global Studies Institute. All courses in GSI are taught in English

Belonging to the Global Studies Institute are the Departments of International Studies, Film & Video, Computer Engineering, Business Administration and the Division of Digital Contents. Students may also choose to supplement their major studies by taking courses in the Global English Program and the Global Liberal Arts Program.

Since courses in the Global Studies Institute are in English, the following language requirements are set: TOEFL 530 (CBT197, iBT 71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or TEPS 600. Scores on other relevant language tests may also be considered.

All courses offered through Global English Program and Global Liberal Arts Program apply toward students’ degree requirements. These two programs give students opportunities to gain practical English-language experience with native-speaking professors.

Students admitted to the Global Studies Institute may also take courses taught in Korean if they pass Level 3 on TOPIK. The Korean Language Education Center at DSU helps students improve their Korean, whether they are studying Korean for academic purposes or for personal interest and daily convenience.
