President Jekuk Chang Reelected as the 8th President of Dongseo University

On December 24th, President Jekuk Chang was reelected to a second term as President of Dongseo University by the Dongseo Academic Institution, directed by Song Jung-jae. His four-year term begins on March 1st of 2015 and ends in February of 2019.
A foundation official said, “President Jekuk Chang has accomplished outstanding achievements for the development of Dongseo University by winning various national projects, promoting internationalization, and raising the university’s employment rate to rank top in the region of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Province.”
Foundation directors were unanimous in their decision that President Chang is the best person to avert the anticipated crisis of student attrition based on his four years of experience as president and his extensive skills in the realms of politics, economy, culture and diplomacy.
President Jekuk Chang received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University in the United States, a doctoral degree in International Relations from Keio University in Japan, and a juris doctor degree in International Public Law and International Business Transactions from Syracuse University College of Law in the United States.
He was awarded the 11th Korea-Japan Cultural Foundation Award and the Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters Award for Excellence in Individual Performance. He has also served as a policy advisor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as an assistant administrator for the Busan-Fukuoka Forum, and as a representative for the Korea-Japan Next Generation Academic Forum.
