Grand Prize and Excellence Award Won by DSU Students in Public Campaign Contest

Dongseo University students majoring in Advertising and Public Relations received the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award in the 2014 “Tom N Toms THINK! Advertising Competition.”

Team Tom Yebbuda, which was comprised of Yu Eun-seung, Lee So-jung, Jang Won-kyung, Jung Sung-kyung, Lee Ga-ram, was awarded the Grand Prize, the Minister of Environment Award, and three million won in prize money. Team Wednesday Five, comprised of Han Su-jeong, Jun Yu-jeong, Heo Jun-min, Jeong Na-hyun, Hyung Shin-jeong, received the Excellence Award along with one million five hundred thousand won. All team members were juniors majoring in Advertising and Public Relations.

The contest, which was co-hosted by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation, was divided into the four categories of Public Campaign Advertising (video and print) and Brand Advertising (video and print). The piece by Tom Yebbuda in the public campaign video category was titled “Putting Coffee, Putting Environment (in a disposable cup).” Their 30-second video was produced and edited using the professional computer program Premiere and After Effects. The video shows various ways of using Tom N Toms's disposable cups to protect the environment.

The piece by Wednesday Five included the messages that trees can be preserved using coffee mugs and that more people can be encouraged to use mugs with a Coffee Mug Stamp Coupon.
