Leading domestic companies such as Doosan, LS Group and others selected eight universities, including Dongseo University, as best in the environmental industry fields. The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) recently announced the results of the 2014 evaluation of university education from an industrial perspective.

The evaluation was conducted to foster improvements in high grade educational curriculums concerning student’s outcomes and capacities. It examined universities’ education programs from commercial perspectives, particularly labor-force supply. The evaluation was conducted within three fields: education infrastructure of academia-industry, degree of conformity to industry demands, and outcomes concerning development in education and technology. It also evaluated educational curriculums through university information disclosure, a survey of graduates, and an industrial evaluation committee.

The executive and staff members of 23 large and smaller corporations, along with 1406 other enterprises, cooperated in the evaluation. The MOE and KCUE will use the results of the 2014 evaluation to expand the evaluation from an industrial perspective for 2015. Universities wishing to participate may have or open departments of environment, energy, biopharmaceuticals, or bio-medical equipment.
