The Great Blueprint of Dongseo University: Maximizing the Brand Value

On February 17, during the 2012 winter workshop for the faculty and staff, the President of Dongseo University (DSU), Dr. Chang Jekuk, declared that “This year will be the first year maximizing the brand value of DSU.”

President Chang also said that “During 2012, we will experience many challenges due to a general election, a presidential election, disputes over tuition, and a decrease in the number of test-takers. Under such circumstances, we will pay close attention to how things develop, and increase DSU’s prestige by taking anticipative actions.”

He emphasized that, “As DSU celebrates its twentieth birthday this year, DSU will be like a young person full of passion. Indeed, it is youngsters such as Google, Naver, Facebook, and Nexon that showed creativity and imagination, and they took a giant leap forward. DSU will strive to nurture similar such young, innovative minds by intensifying its education capacity.”

President Chang suggested the following three main tasks of 2012: brand value reinforcement and the reinforcement of educational fundamentals; the promotion of nonmainstream ideas through continuous education; and the construction of a competitive university which can serve to motivate, as well as, educate people in today’s era of uncertainty.

In particular, President Chang reported that plans are underway to significantly increase scholarship funds for students who have financial difficulties up to 18 billion won. The Chancellor of the Dongseo Educational Foundation, Dr. Park Dong Soon, added that, “By combining and harmonizing all members, I hope DSU will be a lively workplace.”
