On the beginning of a new year, in spite of the cold weather, students belonging to the second-term Dongseo Honor Society left for Canada to increase their global competitive power. From January 2nd to April 23rd, seventeen students will be taking part in general intensive English classes involving speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Each student will be staying with a host Canadian family through a homestay program. There they will be able to experience first-hand the culture and customs of Canada.
A faculty member at Dongseo University said, “The seventeen students will take 272 hours of classes taught by onsite professors for a total of eighteen credits. They will have a chance to broaden their perspectives as well as improve their English abilities during their fourteen-week stay. DSU supported the entire cost for two students including tuition, insurance fees, homestay expenses, and airfare. For the fifteen other students, DSU supported all costs except airfare.”
