Best Foreign Language Picture Award Won at the Maryland International Film Festival

Kim Gyeol (second from the right), who graduated last year from DSU’s Im Kwon Taek College of Film and Media Arts, won the Best Foreign Language Picture Award at the 5thMaryland International Film Festival with his feature length debut filmThe Secret Room of Francis.

Over 140 films from 25 countries around the world were exhibited from April 1 to April 3 at the 5thMaryland International Film Festival in Hagerstown, Maryland. Dongseo University graduate Kim Gyeol’s film,The Secret Room of Francis, won the Best Foreign Language Picture Award, beating out other nominated films likeBrown Willy,Call Wines Day, andBroke.The Secret Room of Francisis a joint production from Good Boy Pictures, a film production company co-founded by Director Kim Gyeol, and New Life, a film production company founded by Directors Seo Ho-bin, Kim Byeong-jun and Oh Won-jae, who are also graduates of Dongseo University’s Im Kwon Taek College of Film and Media Arts.
