Recruitment Announcement

Invitation to enroll in the following research project;

Purpose

the aim of this study is to suggest the advantages and disadvantages of mandatory (national or private) health insurance subscription requirement initiative for international students and estimate an adequate cost assuming National Health Insurance scheme as the only option.

Inclusion Criteria

Adult (over 18 years old), International or overseas Korean students who are attending higher educational institutions (college, university or graduate school) in Korea.

Content

International students (foreigners and overseas Koreans) who agreed to enroll in this study will complete a 10~15 minute self-questionnaire constructed on such variables as socio-demographic characteristics, average monthly medical expenses, health insurance enrollment status, willingness to pay insurance premiums and willing amount.

Period and Setting:

1) Period: Within 21 days after the IRB approval date

2) Setting: online survey

Benefit

140 students out of the total participants who have fully completed the questionnaire will be drawn through a raffle and compensated with GS25 10,000 KRW coupon per person.

Participation method

This survey will only be conducted for international students who voluntarily agree to participate. By clicking on the online survey link below, the survey will be considered as if you agree to participate. You can quit the questionnaire in the middle of the process if you don't want to participate at any time and there will be no penalties. If you quit, your response and personal information will be disposed immediately. The coded questionnaire response data will be managed solely under password for 5 years according to the Seoul National University IRB Guidelines. Data collected for statistical purposes cannot be used for purposes other than its original purposes by Article 33 of the Statistical Law, and responses and personal information will be strictly protected. Personal information collected in this study(gender, age (year of birth), nationality, mobile phone number) will not be provided to other researchers or organizations.
