GSI Welcome Ceremony took place to inform foreign students and professors of the Spring Semester in March 11, 2016 in the lobby (6th floor) of U-IT building. The event lasted nearly 2 hours with about 70 students including international students and Korean students working for their bachelors or their masters. There were GSI professor present as well.
At the beginning of ceremony, Professor Kim Hekyung, Dean of GSI, gave a speech and introduced the professors to the students. A few incoming students introduced themselves on the stage. In the following session, Mr. Han who is in charge of this program, explained the programs that will be held during each semester and also recommended student clubs to make their student life more fruitful. The head of each club also made a brief explanation about their own clubs and said hello to the participants.
With an application form, students could sign up for any club they wanted to join. In addition, they were highly encourage to participate in a special Korean lecture. This event helped international students figure out what programs were available and helped to have a successful semester.
