DSU Selected in Support Program of Innovation for Engineering Education

Dongseo University (DSU) will receive financial support of 200 million won annually for 10 years from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), after being selected for the Support Program of Innovation for Engineering Education.

On April 2, MEST and KIAT announced the names of the 65 universities selected. In addition to DSU, five other universities in Busan were selected, including Tongmyong University, Dong-A University, Pukyong National University, Pusan National University, and Silla University.

The program raises the quality of engineering education, with an aim of providing technological expertise to engineers graduating from university which meets industry needs. Selected universities will reinforce capstone design, introduce various field studies, and merge different fields in the humanities and arts to foster talented human resources.

The DSU program will include a Venture Opening Program, Intellectual Property Cooperation Program, Patent Creation Engineering Education Program, and Innovation Program of Capstone Design.
