The 5th Korea-China University Film Festival

The 5th Korea-China University Film Festival was held at the DSU Centum Campus in Haeundae from September 30th to October 3rd. It was successfully organized by Dongseo University, Kyungsung University, Chung-Ang University and the Communication University of China.

There were 13 movies produced by university students screened in Korea: 3 from DSU, 2 from Kyungsung University, two 2 from the Korean Film Academy, 2 from Pusan National University and 2 from Dong-eui University. There were also 15 movies shown in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan that were produced by students from Peking University, Shanghai University, Nanjing University of the Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, Taipei University of Arts, and other schools.

On October 3rd at 10 am, the film director of “Swordsman and The Myth,” Stanley Tong gave a lecture. He discussed how his philosophy of filmmaking has developed during his 30 years in the film industry. Among the attendees were actress Sangme Chu; director of “Breathless,” Ikjun Yang; director of the “Journals of Musan,” Jung Bum Park; director of “Castle of Glass,” Yaegae Na, and screenwriter Baogingging. In addition, Nihon-University was invited to participate in the film festival as a special guest university for the first time.

The Korea-China University Film Festival is a venue for cultural and educational exchange for students majoring in Film and Imagery. This film festival provides an opportunity for students to broaden their views and find encouragement in exploring their creativity.

The 5th Korea-China University Film Festival further showcased DSU as a leading Asian university in the field of film studies.
