Opening Ceremony Held for DSU Volunteer Corps

자원봉사단.png (503.86 KB)An opening ceremony was held at Sohyang Art Hall of Dongseo University for the DSU Local Community Volunteer Corps on March 11, 2014. This year 718 students joined the corps, with each promising to perform over 30 hours of volunteer services. They will work in association with approximately 100 local volunteer organizations including social and child welfare institutions and health care facilities for the elderly.
To participate in the DSU Local Community Volunteer Corps, students must submit a plan detailing the type of assistance they intend to provide within the community. Those who successfully complete their volunteer services are then awarded one academic credit for their efforts.
At the opening ceremony, President Chang encouraged the students saying, “There are still many people around us facing serious difficulties. We must pay more attention to these people and to their situations. I hope you will each volunteer with sincerity and help them to meet their needs.”
