Dongseo Makes a Film Ko Dol Bae Funded by the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives

Dongseo University is involved in the production of professor and director Im Kwon Taek’s 101st movie Drawing the Moonlight. Also at this time, Dongseo is making a film funded by the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives. The title of the movie is Ko Dol Bae, which deals with the hard life of mackerel fishermen.

On March 23rd, Dongseo University concluded an academic-industrial agreement with the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives which includes the joint making of the movie Ko Dol Bae and the mutual effort for the community economic development.

Attending the agreement ceremony were DSU President Park Dong Soon, Executive Vice President Chang Jekuk, Dean of Planning and Research Office, Song Seung Hwan, Dean of Im Kwon Taek College of Film & Performing Arts, Park Kun Sub, President of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, Kim Im Kwon, and others.

During the greeting, President Park said, “It is Dongseo University’s honor to produce Ko Dol Bae as well as Im Kwon Taek’s 101st movie Drawing the Moonlight. I appreciate the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives’ support for Dongseo University’s Im Kwon Taek College of Film and Performing Arts.”

President Kim said, “I am so glad to conclude an agreement with Dongseo University, a home for knowledge. Through this agreement, I want to attract talented young people to the fishing industry, reducing prejudices against the sea, such as sadness, fear and resentment.”
