Korea-China-Japan Joint Symposium Held by the Division of Business Administration

On March 19th 2010, the Division of Business Administration held a Korea-China-Japan Joint Symposium on the changes and direction of university education by introducing IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) at the Seminar Room of the Minseok Library. For this international symposium, Prof. Imahuku Aishi of Nihon University, a renowned Japanese scholar in Accounting, and 13 students from the Division of Economics at same university were invited

The symposium began following Prof. Imahuku’s keynote speech and presentations by the visiting students. About 150 students from the Division of Business Administration attended the symposium. Lee Sun Bok, Prof. of Accounting Information, was in the charge of interpreting.

Representatives of Korea, Shin Jong Kyo, Kim Dae Young, and Choi Jeong Ju, juniors majoring in Accounting Information gave a presentation entitled ‘The Influence of the Introduction of IFRS and Changes in University Education.’ Iitua Tomoyuki, Takeuchi Kina, Suzuki Wataru, and Iida Takuma, juniors at Nihon University, gave a presentation about the influence of IFRS on Japanese enterprises.

Chinese representatives, Liu Long Hui, Zhou Cheng and Feng Hai Xiao, who are senior exchange students majoring in Accounting Information at DSU, made a presentation entitled ‘The Reactions and the Changes of China after the Introduction of IFRS.’

After the symposium, the students from Korea, China, and Japan attended the semester opening party given by the department of Accounting Information and shared their various opinions on cultural differences and the campus life.
