Choi Si-young won the gold prize Patent Office Award, with attached prize money of 3 million won, for her work "Spoid T," a cosmetic package for traveling purposes. Also, Lee Chang-kyu and Choi Na-yeon received the silver prize, and Kim Hye-ji received the bronze prize.
Product-Innovation-Route students from Dongseo University’s Design College have won many prizes every year since the contest’s inception. This year, the Korea Industrial Design Association, which hosted the contest, awarded the Achievement Award to Professor Kang Bum-kyu, for having had so many of his PIR design students win prizes in the contest.
The 2018 D2B Design Fair Competition was co-hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea International Trade Association. A total of 5578 design works were submitted in the contest, and 32 outstanding works were selected based on aesthetics and practicality. The D2B Design Fair, which marks its 13th anniversary this year, provides excellent designs to companies and secures royalties for designers through design copyrights.
