The International Exchange Center held a "Chuseok Food Sharing Event" for international students from 12:00 to 15:00 on September 11, 2024.
Approximately 600 international students attended the event, which was held at the grass square on the 4th floor of the New Millennium Hall, to experience Chuseok, our traditional Korean Thanksgiving holiday, in advance.
At the event, international students tasted traditional foods and participated in Korean games such as Tuho and Ttakchi. They also had the opportunity to try on traditional Korean attire called hanbok, and taste sweet rice snacks called Gangjeong. Additionally, they received rice cakes as gifts to take home for the Chuseok holiday.
International students expressed their satisfaction with the event. "I was very happy to have the opportunity to try on a Hanbok, which I had only seen on social media," said one student. Another student said, "It was great to feel the warmth of the holiday in a foreign country," adding that "it was a valuable experience to learn about Korean Chuseok traditions and food."
