Results from a Convergence Class

Between the College of Design and the Department of Software Engineering

Dongseo University achieved the remarkable accomplishment of ranking 32nd among universities worldwide in the Global Creative College Rankings
- One Silver Award and four Merit Awards –

SILVER AWARD

Dongseo University won a Silver Award in the Interactive category at the 53rd ‘The One Show Awards’ in the United States with the project titled “SCAN & SAFE.” Additionally, four other projects received the prestigious Merit Award across the Packaging Design and Product Design categories.

Alongside these achievements, the university ranked 32nd globally in the Global Creative College Rankings.

This accomplishment is especially meaningful as it was achieved just five years after the university first began submitting works to the competition.

Founded in the United States in 1973, The One Show Awards is one of the world’s most prestigious international competitions in advertising and creative communications honoring the most creative and innovative advertising and design works from around the globe. Every year, numerous entries are submitted across various categories, and leading industry professionals carefully select the winners as judges. Winning works gain global recognition through the competition’s official website and professional advertising publications.

The winning entries were created by student teams in the “Ideation Convergence Practicum” course (led by Professors Moon Mi-kyeong and Ryu Do-sang), one of Dongseo University’s representative interdisciplinary education programs.

Won-young Jeong, a 3rd-year student in the Department of Advertising & Public Relations, said “I am truly honored and deeply moved that ‘Scan & Safe’ received the Silver Award at The One Show. This achievement was only possible because 보경, 다연, 수빈each gave their very best in their respective roles, and because our senior 성은 completed all the design work despite the tight schedule. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to our professors who always guide us with invaluable advice and support.”
