Korea-China Institute of International Education, a partnership between Dongseo University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, began construction of a campus on June 20th, 2007. The new campus is expected to open in September, 2011. Following a detailed evaluation by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the project was recently ratified.

President of DSU Chang Jekuk in a message sent to school officials on April 27th is quoted as saying, “DSU is not only the first university in Korea, but also the first university in Asia to receive ratification from China for a branch campus. After a four-year evaluation period, the Chinese government has officially approved DSU’s program contents. We can feel confident in our exportation of Korean education to China.”

The Korea-China Institute of International Education was established on the campus of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan, a metropolitan city in central China. Located at the branch campus there, DSU will apply its own specialized educational system to teach Digital Contents and IT subjects to Chinese students. This will serve as a practical way to extend Dongseo’s global advantage.

As the Korea-China Institute of International Education is classified as a special institution of higher education under the Chinese Ministry of Education, only students who obtain first grade ratings on the Chinese College Scholastic Ability Test can be accepted into the program. DSU students also study there for one academic semester and develop their global talent while learning about the Chinese economy, culture, society, and language.

The recently ratified Korea-China Institute of International Education will comprise an auditorium, library, computer room, cafeteria, professors’ offices and high-tech lecture facilities.
