Software-oriented University Project Group Cooperates with Danish Universities on Overseas Education Program

Dongseo University’s software-oriented University Project Group (Director Moon Mi-Kyung) developed overseas education programs in connection with Denmark’s AAU and SDU universities in 2022. The three students selected for the program completed a total of eight days of education from June 27 to July 6.

This overseas education program was conducted in collaboration with the Robotics and Automation group of AAU and the Robotics group of SDU, and consisted of education programs such as Robot Research Environment Tour and Research Experience, AISW-based Robot Fundamentals and Utilization Class, and Introduction to Danish Culture.

Since early 2022, Professor Choi Bong-Joon has been working on an international joint R&D project with six undergraduate students from Dongseo University, Professor Chen (AAU), and researcher Park Jin-ha (SDU), and the overseas education program has been created as an intermediate product of the project.

Professor Choi said, “Through this program, students were allowed to broaden their knowledge by experiencing a good research environment, and at the same time, they were able to see new future possibilities for their careers. To continuously provide these programs to students, the people in charge of the AAU and SDU programs at Dongseo University gathered to conduct workshops, and through these have achieved meaningful results.”

Professor Chen (AAU), who oversaw the education, said, “Professor Choi Bong-Joon and students from Dongseo University visited the AAU Smart Production Lab. We had an interesting discussion about the potential cooperation related to various robot field technologies.”

“I’m looking forward to the next meeting,” said Park Jin-ha, a researcher at SDU. “SDU Robotics is leading robot technology in Denmark, and it was an opportunity to introduce many robot applications to Dongseo University students in this regard. Based on this opportunity, I hope our students will continue to have meaningful meetings on how their majors can be used in the robot industry."

“Through this education, I was able to develop my dream of going to an overseas graduate school,” said Lee Yeon, a senior in the software department at Dongseo University who completed the program.

Overseas education programs for undergraduate students linked to Dongseo University, Denmark and South Denmark University, and Olvog University will be further upgraded and will be held in 2023.
