On October 28th, Dongseo University announced that the College of Design and the Division of Digital Contents were selected by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea for ‘Project Specialization’.

Over the next five years, the Ministry of Education will provide ten billion won to support regional universities offering specialized programs. The two divisions at DSU which were selected will receive one to two hundred million won to enhance their international competitiveness.

Early in 2014, the College of Design restructured its majors into eight converging routes to offer students more practical educational experiences through collaboration with other disciplines such as the Humanities, Business Administration, IT, Tourism, Healthcare Service, Architecture, and New Materials.

The Division of Digital Contents strengthens students’ job competencies through four areas of specialization: Game Technology, Game Art, Animation and Movie Imaging. The objective is to provide students opportunities comparable to the challenges faced in prominent domestic and international studios. Collaboration with related industries is also emphasized.

Dongseo University President Jekuk Chang said, “The College of Design and the Division of Digital Contents are among DSU’s most prominent areas of specialization, and we plan to lead the way in training talented individuals who can significantly contribute to regional and international industries in future.”
