Two DSU Students Chosen as ‘Nuclear Energy University Students’

Dongseo University President Dr. Jekuk Chang announced on June 16, 2014 that two DSU students majoring in radiology, Do-Yeong Pyeon and Gi-Rang Hong, were chosen as ‘Nuclear Energy University Students’ for a nuclear energy research and development project sponsored by the Ministry of Science and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The project aims to develop professional leaders in the field of Nuclear Energy Technology. This year, students from 19 universities including DSU, Seoul National University, KAIST, Yonsei University, and Hanyang University were selected. Furthermore, DSU radiology students were chosen for the past 2 years. Each student selected receives seven million won in research funding over the next year..
One of the students selected for his work concerning “Protein Change in Fish Crystalline Lens,” Do-Yeong Pyeon said, “Even though I have experienced many trials and errors over the past year and a half, I will do my best to achieve excellent results in this program.” The other student selected, Gi-Rang Hong, will research “The Development of the Dental Panorama Device’s Ocular Radiation Exposure Reduction Rate.” He commented, “I am so happy to do research after receiving national funding. I will do my best in the program.”
