On August 29, an entrance ceremony was held at the Sohyang Art Hall for 223 Chinese students entering DSU from the Korea-China International Education Institute. The students, all of whom are majoring in Image and Animation, will take in-depth courses in their major through the Division of Digital Contents over the course of their one-year stay at Dongseo University.

The Korea-China International Education Institute was co-founded in August of 2011by Dongseo University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. In fact, Dongseo was the first Asian university to receive ratification by the Chinese Ministry of Education for jointly operating a 4-year university in China. The students entering DSU have studied basic courses in their major as well as Korean language in China over the last 2 years.

The students were welcomed at the ceremony by Dongseo University Vice President Cho Jeoung Seong; Dean of Academic Affairs Lee Jung Soo; Dean for International Cooperation Chung Chan; and professors in the Division of Digital Contents.

In his welcoming speech, Vice President Cho Jeoung Seong said, “I hope all of you form good memories at Dongseo University, not only in your academic studies, but also by experiencing the culture of Busan.” He added, “I will do my best to support you, and I wish you an enjoyable and convenient stay.”

Dean of the Division of Digital Contents Yun Tae Soo said, “Our division is spreading talent around the world, and I assure you that if you devote yourselves to learning the curriculums in our program, your global competence will grow.” He concluded by making two requests: “First, please have strength and resolve; face any difficulties that come with the dignity and pride of students in the Division of Digital Contents at Dongseo University. Second, be responsible and put your abilities to good social use; you should seek to enrich people’s lives through your capabilities and your character.”
