Fashion Design Students Sweep Top Awards

The 20th annual Busan Fashion Design Contest was held at Bexco in Haeundae on October 14th. There were 380 designs submitted, among which only 40 were selected for the final. Three DSU students swept the top prizes, and six other DSU students received special recognition for their designs.

Lee Bo-Hyeon won the Grand prize worth 5,000,000 for his clothing designs based on the organization and structure of the human body. The aim of his “Transform” theme was to design clothes that express naturalness.

Jo Ah-Ra was awarded the Gold prize worth 3,000,000 for her “Coexistence” design theme, and Jeong Seon-Moon earned the Silver prize worth 1,000,000 for his “Crystal” design theme. Lee Sang-Mi, Kang Ji-Un and Ha Su-Jin each received Village prizes worth 300,000; and Jeong Min-Ju, Kim Ho-Young and Kim Min-Jeong received Brand prizes.

The students commented that they were extremely pleased to be rewarded for all of their time and effort spent preparing for this competition. They also said that they were grateful for the active support their professors provided them both in and out of the classroom over the past three years.
