The 3D Stereoscopic Image Production team, of the 3D Fusion R&D Center of Dongseo University, won the silver medal at the first Korean 3D Content Contest. This event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and was supported by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
For their entry, the 3D Stereoscopic Image Production team filmed a funk rock video called “Dizzy Dance” by the indie band “Self Made Hero.” The video was made with full HD 3D stereoscopic imaging, and was produced with synthetic music video illustration and 2D motion graphics. The music video is characterized by a cartoon feeling, and was filmed at an outdoor location as well as the inside of a club.
The team, led by Choi Won Ho, a professor of the Division of Digital Contents, added 3D filming, lighting, editing, and 2D graphics to the video. In this contest, about 90 works of actual images including animation were submitted. Because of their second place finish, the Dongseo team was awarded 2,500,000 won.
