On March 25th, twenty-one students from the Japanese Department set off for Japan to begin a Japanese language study program at Taisho University. This program will end on July 30th and students will get 18 credits after completing the program successfully.

Prof. Ko Han Beom, Chair of the Japanese Department, said “We operate the language program every year to accomplish the specialization and globalization of the department. Through this program, students will get deeper understanding of Japanese culture, not to mention higher Japanese skills. The Study abroad program also makes students more satisfied with their choice of major and helps them with their job search.”

Lee Jong Gwan, a junior who participated in this program, said, “I would like to test my Japanese skills in Japan with what I learned in class. My goal is to work for the shipping industry so I am going to also study the Japanese logistics system during my stay in Japan.”
