On June 10th, the award ceremony of the 4th Dongseo “Beautiful Campus” Photo Contest was held on the 6th floor lobby in the UIT building. “Challenge, Future and Happiness,” which was taken by Lee Dan Sam, a senior in the Department of Social Welfare, won the grand prize. Jung Sung Woo, a junior majoring in tourism, and Jung Gi Chan, a freshman in the Division of Design, won the gold prize. In addition to these, three works were selected for silver prizes, ten works for bronze prizes and fifteen works for honorable mentions.
For this photo contest, which was held from April 1st to April 30th, Dongseo students and faculty members submitted 356 works on the theme of Dongseo University's beautiful landscapes. The judging committee consisted of four members: three professional photographers, Moon Jin Woo (chairperson), Kim Jin Chul, Kim Jin Moon, and Vice Dean of the Student Welfare Office, Chung Taek Jin. Chairperson Moon commented on the contest, "The quality of the photos is improving annually. This year many works with deep thoughts were presented to the contest."
The grand prize winner received a digital camera as well as a certificate; the gold prize winners received electronic notebooks; and the silver prize winners received MP3 players. The winning works were exhibited at the 6th floor lobby of the UIT building until June 19th.
The grand prize winner Lee Dan Sam said, "There is a door, but if you don’t open the door, it is just a wall. During university life, it is important to have an attitude of opening and trying everything. So I designed a work which shows a challenging position and future success."
