Dongseo University’s graduates had the highest employment rate for a second consecutive year among four-year universities in the Na group (producing between 2000-3000 graduates annually) in the Busan, Ulsan and the Gyeongnam region.

According to the employment statistics results on graduates of higher educational institutions in 2016, which were announced by the Korean Educational Development Institute on January 15, Dongseo University graduates had a 68.5% employment rate as of December 31, 2016.

Although production in major industries such as shipbuilding has slowed in the Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam region, Dongseo University produced successful graduates by managing programs associated with its 7 career competencies. In addition to these programs, the university was selected for government funding to support student employment. In 2017, Dongseo was chosen to operate one of the 6th largest K-Move programs in Korea, which provide support for overseas employment. Furthermore, through an IPP work-study project organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, DSU received funding of 9.3 billion won over five years to focus on fostering creative talents and providing practical business training.

Ahn Sang-hyeop, Head of the Creative Human Resources Office, said “DSU achieved good results through strengthening career competencies, responding to industry demand, and producing talented graduates who are well-suited to the global environment. Also, we provide D-MAP (Diagnosis, Motivation, Affection, Plan) lectures for freshmen students to motivate them and help them determine their career path. At Dongseo University we make sure that our students get the support they need.”
