Dongseo University’s Department of Occupational Therapy has been certified by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The certification took effect in August 2018 and is due for renewal in 2025. This means the curriculum of DSU’s Department of Occupational Therapy is recognized by 73 countries around the world.
The World Federation of Occupational Therapists was established in 1952. The 73 WFOT-affiliated countries include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Japan. The WFOT is an affiliate of the World Health Organization and comprises representatives from all its member countries. The WFOT evaluates and certifies universities’ clinical practices as well as their curriculum and faculty. Graduates from certified universities have their academic achievements recognized by, and may obtain licenses within, all member countries.
Dongseo University’s Department of Occupational Therapy has grown for the fourth consecutive year, from 2015 (one graduate) to 2018 (four graduates). In addition, each Dongseo University student gets over 1,000 hours of training, pursuant to a training agreement with more than 20 of the nation's best education and clinical practice institutes, including Seoul National University Hospital, Yonsei University Hospital, Hanyang University Hospital, and Pusan National University Hospital.
