The briefing session for the LINC Class-Selling Program was held at the media outlet in the New Millennium Building on June 16. Dongseo University President Jekuk Chang, Financial Times General Manager Noh Ju-seop, and students majoring in advertising and public relations were in attendance.

The LINC Class-Selling Programs are collaborations between Dongseo University and other industries. In this recent Class-Selling program, Dongseo University worked together with Financial News, a Korean financial publication. Students from the Advertising and PR Department were assigned as reporters at Financial News and were required to do on-the-scene reporting as well as to produce written news materials. In addition to gaining experience as news reporters, participating students were also eligible to receive 5 million won in scholarship funds provided by Financial News.

The news stories reported by the students included titles such as, “Busan Fish Cake – How Much More Can It Evolve?”, “Learning Thrifty Spending Habits with Bankbooks,” and, “A Pre-season Visit to Haeundae Beach.”

In the briefing session, President Jekuk Chang said, “I am really impressed by the results of this collaboration. The learning experience the students gained likely had a greater impact than they could get only through attending lectures. I’m really grateful to Financial News for giving us this big opportunity.” The General Manager of Financial News, Noh Ju-seop said, “Through the students’ talents, we discovered new, high-quality material. This was a truly fruitful collaboration between our two institutions.”

Meanwhile, the session continued with exhibitions of articles, video presentations, and other student-created media. It concluded with a ceremony in which certificates and scholarships were awarded to participating students.
