[Q-CODE System and Quarantine Exemption]

The Korean government has recently introduced Q-CODE (Quarantine Covid-19 Defense) system to shorten the time of quarantine inspection required upon entry to Korea.

From April 1, 2022, all people who enter Korea from abroad are recommended to visit Q-CODE system (https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr) and put their information including vaccination records, PCR test result, etc before they enter Korea, probably after receiving the PCR test result. After putting information in the system, they can get a QR code that can be printed or presented through mobile phone to pass the quarantine process at the airport.

If they are fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and completed the quarantine process with the QR code issued via Q-CODE system, the mandatory quarantine for 7 days on arrival is exempted.

They are considered fully vaccinated in case they finished the 3rd dose or their arrival date is within 180 days after the 2nd dose of the vaccines with WHO urgent approval. They should check their vaccination date and type of vaccines they took. A certificate of vaccination should be uploaded in the Q-CODE system. If they got vaccinated in Korea, the information can be automatically found in the system.

*10 Vaccines granted emergency use by WHO

Pfizer, Janssen, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covishield (Oxford/AX formulation), Sinopharm (Beijing), Sinovac,

   Novavax, Covaxin, Covovax (Novavax formulation).

For how to put information in the Q-CODE system, please see the attached manual.
