Korean Speech Contest, 2021

To celebrate Hangeul Proclamation Day and motivate foreign students to learn Korean, the 2021 International College Korean Speech Contest will be held. We hope many international students can participate in this contest.

○ Targets: International undergraduate students (including exchange students)

○ Contest type: Individual competition

○ Submission

  - Deadline: by October 10 (Sun), 2021 (The speech video and the application form should arrive before midnight)

  - Things to submit: A video file of speech and a completed application form (attached in this notice)

   ※ The length of the video should be 1 minute to 3 minutes

  - Online submission: by e-mail at dsuic@dongseo.ac.kr

○ Event Schedule

    -Video Submission: September 29 (Wed) - October 10 (Sun)

    -Video Screening: October 11 (Mon), 2021

    -Notification of participants going to the finals: October 11 (Mon), 13:00, at the IC website notice

    -Final Contest: October 13 (Wed), 2021, 13:30-15:00

                        *It will be conducted offline, the place will be notified later.

                        *It can be switched to online, considering the social distancing level then.

○ Subject

  - For beginner’s level: 내가 좋아하는 한국문화 (The Korean culture that I like)

  - For intermediate level: 코로나 시대의 유학 생활 (Study abroad in the era of COVID-19)

○ evaluation: Speaking skills

○ Evaluation Criteria (Total 10 pt.): Fluency (4pt.), Vocabulary (2pt.), Contents (2pt.), Attitude (2pt.)

○ Awards will be given to 13 students for 4 categories

○ Prize money and Prize Points

- If the winner is currently in Korea or has a bank account in Korea, will get the prize money.

For the winner cannot receive prize money (if you are not in Korea or does not have bank account in Korea), the winner will get the prize points only from the classes list below

- You only can get either prize money or prize point.
