 BDAD English Essay Contest

Topic: Before Dongseo / After Dongseo

Date: Wednesday, October 30th, 2013

Time: 15:00-16:50

Location: Room 8506

Prizes: 300,000 won; 200,000 won; and 100,000 won will be awarded to the top three winners, respectively. Certificates of Achievement will also be awarded to the top 5 entries.

Eligibility: Only DSU-degree-seeking students can enter.

Registration: Visit the Office of Foreign Professors (Room 8408) by 18:00 on October 25th to submit a completed application form. Blank application forms can be downloaded from the link above. Results: Winners will be contacted on Monday, November 4th with information about collecting their prizes and certificates.

Focusing on the structure of academic essays

Workshop 2 (10.23.2013):Essay Ideas (Prof. Patrick Carle)
Focusing on strategies for generating essay contents

Workshop 3 (10.28.2013):Essay Practice (Prof. Nate Rafferty)
Focusing on time allocation for essay writing

Time/Location: Each workshop is from 17:00 – 18:50 in room 6602

Details: No registration is needed and anyone may join one, two or all three workshop sessions. The workshops will explain the judging criteria for the essay contest and present effective strategies for essay writing.
