DSU Co-hosts a Conference on East Asian Community

On August 20th, 2010, three research associations – the DSU Japan Center, the Busan-Japan Research Forum, and the Korean Association of Contemporary Japanese Studies (KACJS) – held an academic conference at the Global Conference Room of the Minseok Library. Its subject was “East Asian Community: Messages from the Regions.” The Busan-Japan Research Forum is an association with sixty researchers who are involved in studying a wide range of Japan-related fields. The KACJS was founded in 1978 and is one of the largest Japan research organizations in Korea.
At the academic conference were the following scholars: the representative of the Busan-Japan Research Forum, Chang Jekuk; the President of KACJS, Choi Eun Bong; Professor Kil Seung Hum (Seoul National University); Professor Kim Do Hyung (Keimyung University); Professor Kim Ki Seok (Kangwon National University) and others. In addition, professors Lee Won Bum, Lee Jin Ho, Shin Jung Hwa and Ko Han Bum of DSU participated.
The representative of the Busan-Japan Research Forum, Chang Jekuk (DSU Vice President), presented on the topic, “The Current State of the Busan–Fukuoka Economic Region Plan,” and Professor Kim Ki Seok presented on the topic, “The Watershed of the East Asian Community.’
