On July 1st, the Dongseo Honor Society started its second term. On this day, Dongseo University held an orientation for twenty-two newly selected members, introducing the activities of the Honor Society. Vice President Chang Jekuk gave students a special lecture on the theme of global leadership, stressing that, "DSU has a vision of globalization and specialization which is different from any other university.” He added that, “Successfully realizing one’s visions depends upon individual efforts. Thus, we must do our best at every moment."

Selected sophomore students are from various majors including the departments of English, Health Administration, Film & Video, Architectural Engineering, Social Welfare, Computer Engineering, Marketing, and Environmental Design. Over the next two years, they will be taught to become global leaders. They will study subjects such as ‘Global Issues,’ ‘Communications,’ ‘The Market Economy and Law,’ ‘Introduction to Marketing,’ and ‘Economic and Political Development in the Global Age.’

The Dongseo Honor Society is a program for fostering global leaders, providing its members with the three powers of creative thinking, communication, love and service, as well as knowledge related to their majors.

Lee Ju Young, a sophomore majoring in Nursing, said, "My dream is to join ‘Doctors without Borders’ and serve people all over the world. I applied for the Dongseo Honor Society to achieve this dream. Even if it is not easy to complete this program as well as study my major, I’ll do my best."

The first-term Honor Society members finished intensive training at the University of Alberta in Canada, from January 3rd to April 23rd. The university supported the total cost including airfare, room and board, as well as tuition for two of the students who participated. For the other thirteen members, it paid for everything except airfare.
