DSU President Dr. Jekuk Chang and other school officials visited Europe recently to continue expanding DSU’s relationships with international universities and businesses. One significant accomplishment was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) and Užupis Creative Cluster (a gaming simulation development company), both located in Lithuania.

DSU and MRU will begin offering a joint degree program in Digital Contents in 2014. Students will study at MRU for their first two years, followed by two years of study at DSU, using its state-of-the-art facilities. At DSU, students will also have the opportunity to participate in gaming development projects and internships (See the article “High-Tech Korea – High-Tech DSU!”). The goal is to prepare students to work in either Lithuania or South Korea, a leading country in the gaming industry. The cooperation between universities and businesses provides stimulating educational, professional, and cultural opportunities to students.

A second major accomplishment was the establishment of an academic exchange agreement with Oulu University of Applied Science (OUAS) in Finland. DSU and OUAS agreed to provide an interchange for students majoring in IT, Design, Game, and Film. In addition, DSU and OUAS plan to discuss offering dual degree programs in the areas of Film and Media in the near future.
