Top Prize Sweep in Interior Architecture Contest

Dongseo University President Jekuk Chang praised students majoring in Environmental Design within DSU’s Design College for winning distinguished prizes at the Interior Architecture Contest, which was held as part of the 12th Busan International Architecture Cultural Festival.

On August 30th, DSU student Kim Jong-eun was awarded the grand prize in this contest, with Moon Geum-jin receiving a gold prize, Kim Min-jeong a bronze prize, and Bae Jae-young a participation prize.

The grand prize, also known as the Busan Mayor’s Prize, along with three million won in prize money went to Kim Jong-eun for her piece titled, ‘Second Skin’. This work expressed her design ideas using sensual lines and unusual blue jeans.

The works ‘Sai’ by Moon Guem-jin, ‘Eco Factory’ by Kim Min-jeong and ‘Sum’ by Bae Jae-young won the gold prize, bronze prize, and participation prize, respectively.

The Interior Architect Association of Korea held this contest to discover creative designs for adding new value to old, worn places. The theme selected for the contest was ‘Creative Renewal’.
