On October 17th, in an auditorium at Busan Metropolitan City Hall, DSU and Busan City agreed to work together with regard to co-brand marketing of local products.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Jekuk Chang, President of DSU; Hur Nam-Sik, Mayor of Busan City; Kim Seok-Jo, President of the City Assembly along with other representatives and about 200 citizens. After the signing ceremony, local products were introduced, and an event advertisement was shown.
Since most of the products were made by citizens through various support programs, the prices tend to lack competitiveness and the products can be difficult to advertise. Therefore, DSU is undertaking the overall co-brand marketing of the local products to help to raise sales and brand awareness.
The innovative marketing strategy to be implemented by DSU is a form of educational industrial project called the “Voice Program.” In response to projects proposed by business enterprises, professors and students working in a virtual office will suggest strategies for brand marketing, differentiated strategic support, territorial cultivation of local products, and diversified marketing.
President Jekuk Chang said, “When the brand value of local products increases, the status of a city and nation’s brand value grows as well. I hope we will raise product awareness through the publicity generated by this event. I am very honored to participate in this important venture.”
Busan Mayor Hur Nam-Sik said, “I’m happy that we will showcase our project to the whole country. It will greatly aid the growth of the local economy’s independent foundations and its self-production. I’m also very grateful that DSU has taken on a crucial role in this enterprise.”
