State-of-the-art IT technology is developing rapidly, and related technologies have been upgraded based on the high-speed network, creating a new space where virtual and reality interact, such as 'Metaverse', smartphones, tablet PCs, smart watches, and wearable devices. The knowledge information industry is developing day by day as various digital media are also rapidly spreading.
With the development of IT technology, new crimes also increased. As the 'digital forensic' procedure, which collects evidence from digital media, became an essential process to investigate the crime, interest in related studies increased. This is because the field of digital forensics is not limited to 'criminal litigation' but is evenly distributed in various fields such as 'civil litigation' and 'e-discovery'.
‘Digital Forensics’ is a representative study that converges ‘law’ and ‘IT technology’ because it has to follow the procedures stipulated by the law and submits the collected results as a report to the court using verified devices. Therefore, based on academic theory and practical skills of digital and mobile forensics, this department is appointed as public officials such as investigative agencies, the National Intelligence Service, the National Election Commission, local governments, and study fields that can advance into various fields, such as starting a business for work.
