The opening ceremony for the new GSI Building was held on the 29th of August 2016. The ceremony was attended by Dongseo Foundation Chancellor, Dr. Park, Dongsoon, Dr. Jang ,Jekuk, the President of Dongseo University, Chu, Manseok, the President of Kyungnam College of Information and Technology, Yang, Sangbaek, the president of Busan Digital University, Dean of the GSI, Dr. Kim, Hekyung, and other Dongseo university staff and professors, and International students. The ceremony started off with some welcoming speeches from honored guests then continued on with the ribbon cutting ceremony. After the opening ceremony, guests, staff and students were then welcomed to enjoy the lounge located on the 7th floor.
Global Studies Institute(GSI) is an institute that support international students. There are 7 majors under GSI: digital contents, Computer engineering, International studies, Film and video, Business administration, Biomedical lab science, and Biotechnology. However, these classes are not only for international students, but are also open to Korean students.
The GSI building is a building that was made to facilitate international students. GLAP (Global Liberal Arts Program) courses and other courses taught in English would be held here and there is a workshop space available for Design students. Rising from the basement all the way up to the 7th floor, the GSI building has spacious lecture rooms equipped with computers, beam projectors, air conditioning, study tables ad chairs that make up a good environment for the students. Not to mention the glassed walls that give out a beautiful view of the campus.
