The Department of International Business at Keimyung Adams College (KAC), Keimyung University invites you to take part in the2013Bridge to the World Case Competition event.

The event will be held at Keimyung Adams College on Saturday November 23, 2013.

This competition aims to promote students' analytical capability for identification of problems and development of creative solutions, and effective presentation skills. Participants are expected to demonstrate1) capability to analyze a business case for diagnosing problems, 2) creativity for formulating strategic recommendations and solutions that are both innovative and feasible for implementation, and 3) communication skills for effective presentation of their ideasunder time pressure.

This competition welcomes all undergraduate students in business programs. Business schools/colleges wishing to participate in this contest should follow the general information regarding eligibility, procedures and important dates.

Theme: Corporate Social Responsibility in the Global Market

1.     General Information andImportant Dates

l The Finals of the 2013 Bridge to the WorldCase Competitionwill be heldon Saturday November 23at New Bauer Hall, Keimyung University, Daegu, South Korea.

l All undergraduate Business School/College students are eligible to participate in the 2013 Bridge to the WorldCase Competition.

l Each university may nominate up to TWO teams, and each participating team must consist of not more than 4 members.

l In total, two cases will be assigned to participating teams. One case will be assigned for thepreliminaryround of the competition and another will be assigned for thefinalcompetition (November 23, 2013)

l Six teams will be selected for the final event on November 23, 2013 through the preliminary competition.

l The deadline for the application to participate in the 2013 Bridge to the World Case CompetitionisOctober 14, 2013.

l The firstround(preliminary competition)case will be assigned to all participating teams onOctober 16, 2013.

l The deadline for submission of thepreliminaryfirst-round caseanalysisisNovember 8, 2013.

l Notification of finalists chosen by the Organizing Committee isNovember 15. 2013.

l This is anEnglish Onlycase competition. All processes and procedures will be conducted in English.

2.     Submission of Application

l Fill out the application form, and submit to the KAC case competition secretariat by midnight onOct 14, 2013.

l The case competition committee will send a confirmation of application notice by e-mail within 24 hours after the receipt of your application. 

3.     First Round Preliminary Competition Case Analysis

l Preliminary competitioncase will be assigned to all participating teamson October 16, 2013by e-mail and surface mail along with a guideline for completion of the case analysis, and evaluation criteria set forth by the case competition organizing committee.

l Participating teams should complete the analysis of the preliminary competition case in accordance with the guideline, which will be sent to all participating teams along with the case. Submit the analysis to the case competition committee byNovember 8by e-mail (kac.bwcc@gmail.com). 

l Confirmation of receipt will be sent to you by e-mail within 24 hours.

4.     FinalCase Competition

l Six teams for the final case competition will be selected by the case competition committee. These teams will be notified byNovember 15, 2013by e-mail, along with the guidelines and rules for the preparation for the final case competition.

l The final case competition will be held at Keimyung Adams College onNovember 23, 2013.

l The selected teams MUST attend the final competition and awards ceremony, and CAN NOT change the composition of the team.

l Students at this final event will demonstrate their analytical capabilities to diagnose the problem(s) and develop solutions that are creative and feasible for implementationunder time pressure.

l Students will be given a new case different from the case used for the first round preliminary case competition.

5.     Prizes of the final competition:

·        1^stPrize: Cash 1,000,000 Won with trophy per team

• 2^ndPrize: Cash 700.000 Won with trophy per team

• 3^rdPrize: Cash 300.000 Won with trophy per team

• 4^thPrize: Cash 200.000 Won with trophy per team

• Creative Idea Award: 200.000 Won with trophy per team

• Best Presenter Award: 100.000 Won with trophy per team
