Dongseo University ranked top among four-year universities in the Na-group, those with 2,000 to 3,000 annual graduates, in the region of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Province. On August 29th, the Ministry of Education issued a report titled ‘Current Employment Statistics of Graduates of Higher Education Institutions in 2014’. According to this report, the employment rate of Dongseo University was 57.9%, which is highest among similarly sized universities in its region.
This is the second year in a row Dongseo University has placed first in its group for the region of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Province.
Additionally, five DSU projects were selected in the Ministry of Education’s effort to promote differentiation among universities, based on which Dongseo University will receive the largest amount of government grants (24.5 billion won over 5 years) among private universities in Busan. DSU was also selected for the only regional strategic project among private universities in the Southeastern region of Korea.
President Jekuk Chang said, “Our continuous efforts to introduce innovative aspects into curriculums and to offer customized career guidance for senior students has contributed greatly to our high employment rates.” He added, “We plan to utilize strategies such as the Lifetime Academic Adviser policy, which involves providing general counseling, career counseling, and career guidance to strengthen communication and build rapport with students over the course of their four years at Dongseo University.”
