The government is operating the Top-Tier Visa system for professors and researchers in the field of science and technology in response the intensifying global competition in science and technology and the shortage of core domestic talent.

• - (Definition) A visa system to support the domestic activities and settlement of the world’s top talents from abroad

• - (Recommendation Requirement) Top talents in the field of science and technology

• Eligibility Requirements (Common Requirement) Foreign nationals who have signed (or are scheduled to sign) an employment contract with a domestic institution (university, research institute, company) in the field of science and technology

• - Top-Tier Visa Recommendation Procedure (Summary)

• ① Host institution signs (or plans to sign) an employment contract with foreign talent → ② Host institution applies for Top-Tier Visa recommendation → ③ Ministry of Science and ICT reviews completeness of documents → ④ Ministry of Science and ICT examines and notifies recommendation decision → ⑤ Host institution applies for residence visa (F-2-T) for top talent → ⑥ Ministry of Justice issues electronic visa → ⑦ Foreign talent enters Korea and begins employment
