Dept. of Radiological Science

Intorduction: Department of Radiolgocial Science at Dongseo University

Department of Radiological Science at Dongseo University was established in 2010 with the aim of cultivating proficient and proactive experts in the field of radiological science who are guided by Christian values.

In recent years, the field of medical and applied radiological science has evolved significantly, integrating cutting-edge academic disciplines and growing alongside other fields of study. Particularly, medical radiation, which has rapidly advanced since the late 20th century, plays a pivotal role in delivering precise diagnostic information for various diseases and in the realms of cancer treatment, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound, owing to the fusion of medical practices with state-of-the-art science. Dongseo University's Department of Radiological Science offers foundational education in radiogical science, encompassing fundamental radiation theory, practical experiments, and clinical experience.

Our curriculum covers radiological diagnosis (including general imaging, CT, MRI, etc.), radiation therapy (involving gamma knife, cyber knife, electron linear accelerator, proton accelerator, heavy particle accelerator, among others), nuclear medicine examinations (PET, SPECT, etc.), ultrasound examinations (US), image information acquisition and processing (PACS), as well as education in image quality management and equipment maintenance, radioisotope handling techniques, and various applications of radiation.

In the field of radiogical science, medical equipment continually advances due to the rapid progress in medicine and science. Consequently, we are committed to providing cutting-edge services to meet the diverse needs of the medical community.

To address this reality, the Department of Radiological Science at Dongseo University is dedicated to nurturing top-tier talent capable of contributing to the advancement of the national healthcare sector. Below, we outline our specific objectives.
