Dongseo University Glocal Project Group held an exchange event on October 21, 2025, aimed at establishing a leading model for an open consortium university system to realize shared growth among Busan Metropolitan City, universities, and industries. The event focused on creating an integrated regional industry–academia–research cooperation ecosystem and building a global innovation network.
The event took place at the Seminar Room of the Virtual Convergence Technology Innovation Institute under the Dongseo University Glocal Project Group and was organized to explore practical strategies for connecting regional and global collaboration.
In particular, discussions focused on building networks with global expansion support organizations such as KOTRA and KOSTA to establish a foundation for entering ASEAN markets and expanding overseas opportunities for companies based in Busan. The importance of constructing practical cooperation systems linking local industries with global markets was strongly emphasized.
In the field of design, participants also examined strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of products and services based on convergence design and to advance overseas market expansion strategies. These discussions were viewed as an important opportunity to enhance the growth potential of the regional design industry as a global hub.
Furthermore, participants discussed collaborative approaches for establishing R&BD (Research and Business Development) cluster partnerships involving government agencies, local authorities, and industries. The discussions highlighted the importance of creating integrated cooperation systems that organically connect regional industries, research, and policy development.
In addition, plans for establishing a “Busan–Asia Global Network” to strengthen connections between Busan and ASEAN regions were presented. The initiative aims to move beyond simple exchange activities by developing practical business cooperation models and proposing new directions for region-based global collaboration.
Dongseo University Glocal Project Group plans to continue expanding innovation ecosystems connecting local and global communities while promoting various collaborative programs to strengthen global competitiveness based on industry–academia–research cooperation.
