Dongseo University and Kyushu Sangyo University Renew Commitment to Global Collaboration in Busan

Strengthening Global Educational Networks Through Student Exchanges, Faculty Meetings, and Cultural Experiences

From August 20 (Wed) to August 23 (Sat), the College of Design welcomed a delegation from Kyushu Sangyo University, Japan, for a series of academic exchange and cultural interaction programs in Busan.

This year’s visit was particularly meaningful as it reflected on the achievements of the long-standing partnership between the two universities, which began in 1999 and has continued for 26 years, while also exploring new directions for future collaboration.

On the first day of the visit, faculty members and students from Kyushu Sangyo University checked into the Dongseo University dormitory, toured major campus facilities, and attended the DSUX&KSU Welcome Ceremony. Following the event, faculty members from both universities gathered to discuss future cooperation strategies and strengthen academic relationships.

On August 21, Korean and Japanese student teams participated together in a regional exploration program across Busan, encouraging interaction and cultural exchange. Faculty members from both institutions also held a meeting to discuss concrete plans for academic collaboration and the expansion of exchange programs.

On August 22 and 23, the delegation visited major cultural and artistic venues in Busan, including the Centum Campus area (Im Kwon Taek Film Museum, Sohyang Theatre Hall, etc.), F1963, Arte Museum, and the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art. Through these visits, participants experienced the diversity and vitality of Korean cultural content while gaining insight into Dongseo University’s educational philosophy and Busan’s cultural strengths.

Juyoung Jang, Dean of the College of Design, stated

“The 26 years of exchange with Kyushu Sangyo University demonstrate the trust and friendship built between our institutions. We will continue to expand our international collaboration network and provide students with opportunities to learn and grow in a global environment.”
