Addressing Asian Challenges and Cultivating Global Design Talent
As a platform for sharing and expanding the outcomes of global design education and research, this competition promotes the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while contributing to the development of ethical collaboration capabilities and global perspectives among next-generation designers. In addition, outstanding achievements are connected with international awards and exhibitions to strengthen Busan’s identity as a global hub for design education and research, while also contributing to the formation of an international design community supporting Busan’s bid for World Design Capital (WDC) 2028.

Let's Create "Sustainable and Inclusive Future"
Designing a Sustainable and Inclusive Future
1. Resilient Cities, Communities and Inclusive Well-being This theme includes disaster resilience, community co-creation, universal design, aging society, multicultural inclusion, and sustainable community development. |
2. Sustainable Green Design and Climate Action This theme connects cities, communities, and natural environments, including topics such as circular society, decarbonization, green infrastructure, biodiversity, and sustainable lifestyles. |
3. Blue Sustainability: Oceans, Water and Future Ecology This theme covers marine environments, water resources, coastal regions, ecosystem conservation, sustainable tourism, and circular lifestyles. |
4. Others Participants are welcome to propose other related topics freely. |
Entry Overview

| Eligibility | Students currently enrolled in universities, graduate schools, vocational institutions, or high schools worldwide who are interested in design (including working students) Students from non-design disciplines are also encouraged to apply. |

About the SDGs Design International Awards
Global society is increasingly expecting great things from design. Motivated by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we’re seeing efforts all over the world to solve problems seemingly unrelated to design like hunger, poverty, and inadequate food supply.
Design’s role has moved beyond just the use of colors and shapes.
Design offers an effective way to solve society’s problems.
These awards recognize and encourage students with great potential to change society. They aim to share brave new solutions widely around the world, serving as a driving force to improve our future society.
