Dongseo University supervises the Chapel to understand the truth of Christianity to realize the founding ideology “Realization of Christianity spirit” and to enrich our psychological and spiritual life. Student chapel on the contrary to chapel service, is during school hours, not on the weekend, with believers and nonbelievers together to learn the value of Christianity to recognize their own belief and change their personality to develop the leadership for society, country, and the world. Main programs are worship, prayer, and creating messages with various types of cultural genre. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior shall take the chapel class as a mandatory class, the measure of the grade for a freshman, and a sophomore is “P”(pass), for a junior it is 1(credit). The venue is an auditorium in Industry & Academy cooperation hall. The grade will be calculated by attitude and attendance and students shall sit on their own seat to get an attendance. A student will get a “P” or “1” credit when they are absent from the chapel less than 3 times, however, when the student is absent from the class more than 4 times, they will get an “F” credit. (Public service) Through the activities on campus globalization (or) local public service, students can share and understand many different cultures. Furthermore, students can grow their ability as global leader and be inspired the pride as Dongseo students.
English 1
This course will introduce students to the English language program at Dongseo University. The course will build on the high level of English proficiency the students have by focusing on English for specific purposes. Through directed practice, students will become familiar with more advanced language. Real world opportunities will be provided to give students the chance to practice the language they have learnt. These opportunities will include; job/university interviews, group work, expos, videos and presentations. Students are expected to take an active role in their studies through classroom participation. The course is designed for students with an IELTS level of 5.5 or above. Students will take full advantage of the wealth of reading materials available in the GSI office. Students will read two magazine articles and discuss the articles with their classmates. Throughout the semester the G.S.I. department will run various competitions, including cultural competitions and essay writing competitions. Students will be encouraged to enter these competitions and use their entries as assignments in this class.
Creative Thinking & Composition
This course focuses on writing as a process with emphasis on essay organization, sentence structure and style.It will guide students through the steps of the writing process to produce the well-organized, clearly developed essays that are essential to academic writing in English, Furthermore, extensive practice will be given to the students in order to assimilate writing in English. Furthermore, extensive practice will be given to the students in order to assimilate writing skills and write with accuracy.
D-MAP Motivation1
The main purpose of this class is to guide the students as a team. This class will help the students understand better on the global era hence students can learn how to plan and prepare their future. Furthermore, students will be taught fundamental knowledge to be a global leader. To do this, this class pursues the teaching method to maximize the interaction between professor and students such as group discussion.
Creative Life Coding
Description of the importance of basic theory and software for computers. Starting with the sequential concept, which is the basic core concept of coding, the example of adding the concept of selection and repetition to the sequential concept step by step is conducted as a practice. Proceed with practical examples of using new concepts (event, replication, logical operator/comparative operator, etc.) based on the concepts learned.
Business Administration Theory
As a basic level course for Business Administration, the purpose of the course is to help students acknowledge the free enterprise system, which serves as a foundation for capitalism, and corporate environments such as economy, politics, laws, resources and consumers. Furthermore, it aims to provide students with overall understanding on basic concept, purpose of modern business, which is operated under the said environment, and major functional fields of business administration.
Accounting Principle
As an introductory course to business accounting, the course allows students to learn a series of process, order and techniques required to complete the preparation of financial statements through the process of an accounting cycle, and students can obtain the perception of how to use each process so that they can acquire accounting mind and basic knowledge necessary for business management.

Design and Creative thinking
Through practices of design thinking founded upon the 'design mind' that includes uniqueness, creativeness, and usefulness, creative thinking will be nurtured. Moreover, creative design methodology, as well as theories on modeling, innovative design process, and problem-based learning (PBL) will be acquired through experiential learning, and these theories will be systemized through debate, group projects and activities. As a result, creativity and overall problem solving -Through various means, such as video clips and special lectures by experts, creativity will be developed. -Through assignments 1 and 2, innovative ideas will be visualized and constructed into real products.
Economics
This course discusses economic dynamics generated during the process of goods and service production, exchange, distribution and consumption, by selectively using scarce resources. Also, as national economic issues, it examines political significance and solutions of commodity price, unemployment, international balance of payments, exchange rates and so on.
Business Statistics
This course will train students to understand and learn a series of information processing and discuss various ways to help them make scientifically valid decisions when they need to make decisions on uncertain facts after graduation.
Asia Politics and Economics
This course compares the political, economic, and social development of Asia. The goal of this course is to learn Asia, anticipate probable developments in the region, and think critically about the potential long-term impact of those developments on countries.

Data Science
The goal of this course is to familiarize students with vital business software and introduce them to basic programming language for the purpose of the growing field of Data Science. The course gives an overview of the data, questions, and tools that data analysts and data scientists work with. This course is divided into two sections. First is a comprehensive introduction to Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. We will discuss spreadsheets, their terminology, and their components, and explore how to use a spreadsheet in your work and for basic data analysis and data visualization. The second component is an introduction to the R Programming language where we will learn the tools that will be used in the program like version control, markdown, git, GitHub, R, and RStudio. In this course, you will learn how to do basic programming in R and how to use R for simple data analysis and basic data exploration.
Marketing Principle
The course will lecture on information system that provides information necessary to corporate management. It discusses various types of the information systems, their functions, use, structure and information technology required for building IT system. It also covers how to integrate various IT systems and how they can be used.
Human Resource Management
Human resource management, which is to acquire and utilize new organization and talents suitable for establishing and carrying out business strategy, is a growing topic in the recent business administration. Financial Management
Financial management introduces overall technique and theory which is concerned with assessment and making decision on corporate investment, such as entering new businesses, increasing production line, financing for the business expansion, or deciding right timing. In this course students will approach the operations management as a powerful tool to achieve organizational objectives and strategies. Students will learn how to set organizational priorities for continuous process improvement, how to execute process improvement projects, and how to sustain the initiative for continuous improvements. This course provides a general management perspective of the role of operations in companies in both manufacturing and service industries. Key concepts include continuous improvement, process analysis, product and process design, bottlenecks, flows rates, and inventory levels, and more.
Service Marketing
This course is an introduction to service marketing. This course is designed to prepare students who are pursuing marketing careers in the services or goods industries and students desiring to understand the important concepts of services marketing and how they can be used to create competitive advantage for businesses.
Organization Behavior
The course aims to help students systematically understand behaviors of individuals and small groups in an organization, which is linked to productivity of the organization, and enhance the ability to explain and predict perception and attitude regarding interface between individuals and social phenomenon in the modern society using behavioral-science approach. By understanding individual performance level in the organizational settings, students can learn how to effectively motivate themselves and others. In addition, they can experience performance change in a small group and how to solve conflicts within the group through experiments. This is an introductory course to basic concepts of collecting information of market and consumers, which is the foundation of marketing activities, managing, analyzing and interpreting the information. It will cover from diagnosis of marketing problems, preparing surveys, sampling and due diligence, data analysis and interpretation, and preparing a report in the end.
Database System
The course will provide basic concepts to design and manage database, and students will learn design format, language and system configuration of the data base. Also the course will lecture on how to store and manage designed database in the management system.
Investment Analysis

An understanding of the information system and a detailed understanding of the whole process of building the information system for venture business. Understand the meaning and implementation of information strategy plans that are key to the information system construction process. Investigate and study actual cases of informatization of enterprises to obtain implications and lessons from the field.
Management Science
This course covers many approaches to solving business problems from managerial point of view. It is designed to introduce fundamental quantitative decision-making business analytics tools for a broad range of managerial decision problems. The aims of this course is to develop the student’s analytical thinking skills in business settings.
Consumer Behavior
The course provides basic knowledge to help students understand consumer behaviors, which is the foundation when establishing marketing strategies. It attempts to examine the decision-making processes of consumers, information processing process, and psychological and socio-cultural factors affecting the consumer behaviors.
Venture Business
This class teaches a human-centered design approach to creative problem‐solving and business innovation. The process used in this course moves from (1) INSPIRATION to (2) IDEATION to (3) IMPLEMENTATION. For each of these phases, the students will be introduced to a set of representative methods. By learning and applying these methods, students will approach and handle complex problems more effectively. This course develops students' skills to conceive, organize, and implement successful projects based on designedly thinking. A special focus is set on the third phase of IMPLEMENTATION. This phase guides students in developing an idea into a viable Business Model. The learning process involves the formulation of a Value Proposition, Business Impact Analysis, Business Model Canvas, and Business Pitch Deck. These methods will facilitate students in creating and implementing their Business Plan. Additionally, students will learn how to collaborate in a team and communicate results with persuasive presentations.
ERP System Practice
This course is designed to understanding why Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Information Systems (BIS) are required and inevitable for business. Students will practice ERP system (HR) and draw architecture of business using ERP/BIS.
Field Study
This course aims to develop students’ professional skills in related area. There are two options to get Pass on this course – either by taking internship (with required number of hours) in a company or organization related to a student’s major or by doing special study or lab research throughout the semester. In first case, internship should be taken before registering for the Field Studies course (i.e., in summer or winter vacation) and then appropriate reports and documents should be presented in the following semester. Otherwise students will have to participate in professor’s lab work (take a part in some project) or do another assignment or study which will enhance their professional skills in related major.
Business Ethics
This course is about ethical issues in business and for the students to the development of a moral frame of reference and an awareness of social responsibility in management practices and business activities. The main aims of this course are to expose students to debates about a range of ethical issues and to enhance students' critical reasoning skills. This is accomplished by discussions and dialogues about a variety of topics related to moral and ethical issues in the business world. After completing this course, students will be able to: define business ethics, identify and discuss the consequences of unethical business practices, describe the reasoning for analyzing ethical dilemmas, describe different ethical views from a cultural perspective, explain corporate social responsibility and discuss social and ethical threats emerging from rapidly emerging technological change.
Emerging Technology and Management
New Product Development
This course will provide students holistic view of the new product development arena and will help them gain specific knowledge in how to select, plan, monitor and control a new product development project, using the proper tools and techniques. After this course, students will have a clear view and understanding of the New Product Development (NPD) arena, be able to select the right product configuration based on value (Voice of the customer), cost, time to market and risks, be able to develop a feasible plan for own product, and be able to execute a business plan in an uncertain dynamic environment using the right tools and techniques.
Management Strategy
Strategic thinking is a crucial element in modern business management environment. Any company that does not make a strategic decision will be either weeded out of market or falling behind in the competition, leading the company to be in danger in the end. Strategies stemming from Military Science began to be applied in business as they encounter issues caused by oversized business and needs for efficient management of organization. It is necessary for companies to predict market change and prepare plans from the long-term perspective. While companies set their frameworks for management strategies, the management strategy has become the significant element of modern business management.

The objective of this class is to provide you with a framework for analyzing a firm’s past performance, estimating its future performance, and valuing its equity. The course integrates key concepts from accounting, finance, economics, and business strategy and applies them to financial decision-making. The course focuses on teaching you to interpret numbers in the financial statements. You should leave the course with the ability to generate reasonably accurate (or at least logically consistent) forecasts of a firm's future financial performance, including revenues, earnings, asset balances and free cash flows.

This class will examine the brand with special emphasis on strategic importance of brand, and how to build brand assets and use them.
Venture Master Class
Startup has traditionally been defined as the process of designing, launching and running a new business, which typically begins as a small business, offering a product, process or service for sale or hire. In this course of lecture, students will understand the concept of entrepreneurship and how entrepreneur is different from merely "business man & woman." In this course, students will develop an innovative entrepreneur's mindset and students will learn how to establish a new business. Students will have opportunities to think like a CEO through case studies. This course focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills and applying the business knowledge to a real business through hands-on business project. The signature project of the course is that students sell and market actual products with International College’s industry-academic cooperation companies. In addition, students research, analyze, test, revise, and rewrite sections of a business plan and learn the relevant details. Students will learn what it takes to finalize a business plan after acquiring practical experience from hands-on projects.
