Dongseo University RISE Project Group SIG Student Team
Wins Gold Prize at ASCN·SUN Annual Conference in Thailand
On Monday, December 2, 2025, the “3℃ Team,” formed through the Mobility SIG research initiative of the Dongseo University RISE Project Group, received the Gold Prize during the academic presentation session of the Asia Sustainable Campus Network (ASCN) and Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN) Annual Conference held at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
This award follows the team’s earlier achievement of receiving the “Chairman’s Award” at the final presentation of the “2025 Korea Green Campus Council 12th Green Leader Development Program.” The recognition is particularly meaningful in that research and practical activities initiated through a domestic program were further acknowledged on an international academic stage.

In particular, even after receiving the Chairman’s Award, the 3℃ Team continued to expand its project beyond a one-time achievement by steadily carrying out planned exhibitions and research activities.
Last December, the team presented a short documentary film and participatory interactive content exhibition on the issue of marine waste along the Dadaepo coastline at Dongseo University. The exhibition attracted attention for encouraging audiences to recognize environmental issues and reflect on behavioral change through active participation. In addition, another exhibition scheduled for February is currently nearing completion, demonstrating how the project has gradually expanded into exhibition, educational, and public engagement fields.
During the presentation, the 3℃ Team also introduced plans for a media art exhibition in collaboration with the Busan Transportation Corporation, presenting a practical direction for expanding their research into local public spaces.

Dongseo University’s RISE Project Group stated that, following this Gold Prize achievement, it plans to continue supporting student-led research and exhibition activities based on local environmental issues while expanding them through international exchange opportunities. The project has been recognized as an example demonstrating the practical potential of design by connecting research, exhibitions, and citizen participation, rather than simply explaining the concept of sustainability.
The students of the award-winning 3℃ Team received project funding support through the Asian-style Design Erasmus SIG research initiative under the Dongseo University RISE Project, enabling them to carry out field investigations, exhibitions, presentations, and other research activities in a more stable and sustainable manner.
